It took me literally a week to go through my notes and pictures, brought home from the last Blickfang Design Exhibition 2014 in Vienna. So many new objects of desire for the attentive, conscious costumer. My wishlist unexpectedly went from zero to quite the big one. Still waiting for the right moment to discuss that with other family members.
Still overwhelmed by the charming italian hospitality and cool cafés, I attended an Openingparty of a bakery, metropolitan style in the 3rd district and expected a nice evening with good wine and nothing more.
What I found, honestly surprised me, because I didn’t expect to find such a perfectly thought out concept, which you would usually just find in London, maybe Stockholm … and thank god!, because Vienna need such a place badly.
Lowkey design in high quality with so much love to details.
Only wine from Austrian winegrowers and bread from the family business Ströck, who signs responsible for the Feierabend restaurant (german: after work).
The food is just my taste: Austrian-saisonal-regional, with a trendy touch and reasonable prices. Even vegans will find satisfaction in the carefully thought-out menu.
And then there is another hidden treasure in the basement: A very romantic cellar with old Austrian bricks for candle light dinners.
A last hint: When you order your organic and fairtrade Espresso before you leave, be sure to choose one of the three Feierabend-loafs for your home, which were only created for the restaurant by Philipp Ströck.
Hoping that Vienna is ready for such a cool location and will be back soon for breakfast on weekend, which is offered until 4PM.

p.s. Wasn’t my linen handbag with natural leather just the perfect fit in the neutral shaded design interior?
