As much as I love a colorful life, I have this thing with natural stone like sandstone or all shades of gray in granite. I can’t stop taking pictures of architecture details, when on holidays. Let’s be honest, not only on holidays!Trenchcoat-Season is around the corner, and as weird as it may seem, this piece of clothing always combines holiday memories with interior design for me. Funny enough, I never think of rain, when seeing a nude colored trench. Sadly I still didn’t find that wow-effect Investment piece of this classic coat, but I have 2 which I really like to wear. The one that will blow my mind, when looking in the mirror is on The-List.
But not to worry, investment pieces are things that can’t be bought within the blink of an eye. I know that, and I have some experience in that kind of shopping. Not being an impulse shopper helps here a lot, and having a look into my drawers makes me always smile, because I love each and every piece I have at home. The fact, that I bought many things abroad, brings back happy memories whenever I choose to wear one of this little treasures.
Sometimes I worry a bit, before I decide to buy something, if it will really last as long as I wish. One of those things was the Causa ‚ I need a new portemonnaie.‘ I waited for such a long time, that my old purse practically fell apart, which was no wonder, I used it over 10 years! My object of desire was a leather woven Bottega Veneta piece. I feared that the leather strings would break loose from extended use. But then again, I have a handbag where no such thing ever happened in years. Two years later, I can assure you, the purse looks practically brand new. That’s the nice thing in buying investment pieces. You don’t have to buy every now and then new things, cause your beloved pieces last forever. I can’t help my romantic streak, but knowing that the beautiful understatement piece arrived from Milan gives me every single day that little impulse to think of the beautiful italian streets, stones and lifestyle. Funny enough most of my Bottega Veneta leather goodies are from here, even if I visited almost every boutique in the cities I visited.
One of those additional great things of the butter-soft leather braided intreciatto bags is the possibility to put them in your luggage without worrying about weight. The square bottomed Nuance Bag in the nude shades works almost always and has just the right size to fill it with the things you would need on your walks in the streets.
I hope you liked that nude color mix of architecture photography from my trips to Milan, London, Stockholm and Hamburg. Maybe you got a bit of inspiration for your wardrobe and home for this fall season, even for a city trip to one of this beautiful european cities.
Enjoy the wonderful sunlight in Vienna and elsewhere on those warm Indian Summer days, and have a wonderful weekend! Much love from Vienna!
