Whenever I have to run errands in the Freyung area, a short city walk between Hof – Kunstforum – Freyung – Ferstel Passage – Herrengasse is a Must. Having a coffee, buying some french stuff, like special salt for my salt collection (here) at the Épicerie fine & Bistrot Beaulieu or at Xocolat.
We visited the Hubert Schmalix Exhibition at the Kunstforum und said hello at the Alf Poier – Vernissage downstairs in the Tresor rooms. Both Austrian painters‘ works are featured at the museum this summer until July, 12th 2015 (more here).

WoV-travelsecret: If I had only 2-3 hours to explore the city of Vienna, this would be exactly my walking-route. Starting with a museums visit at Kunstforum. Breathing fresh air on Freyung and Am Hof, while enjoying the eclectic mix of old and new architecture. Then strolling through the Palais Ferstel Passage (Freyung 2), buying gifts and souvenirs in the shadow of the ancient walls, which instantly remind of Venice’s Palazzos. And as icing on the cake I would have a final coffeebreak on the other end of the passage (Herrengasse 16) next door at Café Central and order a Cremeschnitte before I would have to jump in a Taxi to leave. But during daytimes, probably it would be much faster to choose the U3 underground line which happens to have a station 1 min. from the Café.
