Slow Hosting – the appreciation of art and cuisine in Austria

The exclusive photo shoot was arranged by Eveline Eselböck – delegate of Relais & Châteaux Austria, Northern and Eastern Europe – for the campaign REVIVE, which will start an exhibition-tour through ten houses of the hotel group in summer 2015, reflecting the essence of hospitality and slow hosting. The star photographer Hubertus von Hohenlohe captured vivid portraits with prominent Relais & Châteaux hotel guests and their hosts. Slow Hosting - the appreciation of art and cuisine in Austria Very inspired by art and food I took the opportunity to relive that colorful experience by taking a day off and enjoy the unique atmosphere of the cosmopolitan haven in the charming Burgenland Village Schützen. The weather couldn’t be more perfect and the sunlight gave that romantic scenery the icing on the cake. This charming 19th century vintner’s house is dedicated to well-being, the appreciation of art and love of the surrounding nature of the Pannonian lowlands. The remarkable cuisine of Chef Alain Weissgerber will enchant your palate. Created in 1984, the former farm hosts not only one of the best culinary addresses but is also a romantic hotel, a grocery store in the middle of a beautiful garden that will seduce you. Eveline Eselböck, Maître de Maison – Taubenkobel.

This years choice was another romantic highlight on our yearly Burgenland-list. Enjoy the photographs from my lunch at the Taubenkobel Grocery Store. An organic heaven with the greatest regional meals freshly prepared just for you. And when you are finished with your meal, there are waiting hundreds of little products curated like a colorful poem for your kitchen at home. I wish I had more free weekdays to visit this place more often.
