A new boutique hotel in Vienna, The Guesthouse, which doesn’t want to be a hotel but a a temporary home with hotel-service, owes the design signature of the successful team Sir Terence Conran and Manfred Stallmajer, just opened its doors a few weeks ago.
A home away from home
Right before entering The Guesthouse during evening times, there is one thing you will first notice: the lightning by Woka lamps Vienna, known for the reproduction of classical icons of the Wiener Werkstaette.
I can’t tell how the 39 rooms look like, but I had a lovely dinner at the Brasserie (I prefer the term All Day Breakfast – Restaurant) and felt instantly like at home surrounded by cosy pillows and furniture exactly to my taste. Its own bakery in cooperation with my favorite bread bakery Gragger made my dinner choice easy:
Salad with bread and then some great viennese dessert.
I will be back soon for a long breakfast, because guess what I saw on the menu? Eggs Benedict and Eggs Florentine! – Rarely to be found in Vienna.
