Yesterday I attended the first Vienna Foodcamp, perfectly organized by Dani Terbu and Nina Mohimi at the bene showroom in the center of the city. Starting with the first Session after a delicious breakfast, three leading austrian food-bloggers (roughcut, the stepford husband, esskultur) talked about their experiences in food-blogging regarding readers, devices, communication and of course the reason why they all share the same passion, like most of us in the audience:
Many interesting sessions followed with topics about food quality, diets, fasten, organic food, alternative nutrition trends as well as online delivery food concepts.
Of course one has to eat, when talking food all day. We were offered a great lunch by Paolo’s, and Sonnentor gave us the opportunity to try all their organic teas all day long. And I found a new favorite for fall: the White Protection and Power Tea.
I enjoyed the stories accompanied by hundreds of pictures from Katharina Seiser’s visits at the scandinavian restaurants Noma (Denmark) and Faviken (Sweden) and I liked the lecture by Cliff, who gave us an inside into food photography and some really helpful hints.
After a lovely wine tasting with You Grape we changed the location and had a new experience in creative cooking with Open Kitchen at Wrenkh’s cooking salon, where I created some vegetarian puff pastry ships with Petra and left after 12 hours talking food knowing that there are many people in Vienna, who appreciate good food and good company as well as quality in life and taste.
