A typical dish in the Austrian cuisine, which is composed of influences from throughout the former Austro-Hungarian Empire, is potato goulash (austrian: Gulasch; hungarian: gulyás).
Recipe (3-4 servings): Chop one small onion and green pepper finely and fry them in vegetable oil over low heat in a large saucepan until golden. Add 20g sweet red paprika powder and geglaze with fine, white vinegar and add a cup of water. Season with salt, pepper, marjoram and add the dices-cut potatoes.
Cook about half an hour on mid-heat and add the sausages of your choice (we like the more spicy ones) 10 minutes before you want to serve your Potato goulash and low down the heat.
