Food Flagship for cosmopolitan Vienna
If you want to cook you have to have a trusted place where to buy your fresh ingredients. From today on Vienna has a new level of Food Flagship Stores. Merkur (Rewe Group) opened a one of a kind supermarket on one of the most charming and oldest places of Vienna: Hoher Markt. Famous for the Anker Uhr.
Being a fan of beautiful food halls like Fortnum & Mason, Harrods (London) or Östermalm (Stockholm) and chic Delis like Dean & Deluca (NYC) I was pretty amazed that Merkur and the architects from BEHF did such a great job in Vienna. Honestly, the Viennese have a new Food Heaven.
2.000 sqm food adventure with 700 different kinds of fruit and vegetables, 100 variations of bread and biscuits, over 40 dessert creations, many of them organic and of regional origin, 200 different kinds of sausages and ham and 70 various Champagnes just to count out a few numbers.
Let the pictures from todays Bloggerbreakfast speak for themselves:
I am very much looking forward visiting the place soon again preferably between 3 and 5 PM when the Dallmayr Café daily invites for ‘Tea Time Classic’ with Scones.
Tomorrow more about ‘KIM’ at Merkur’s … http://windowsofvienna.com/2012/10/13/breakfast-with-kim/
