Beautiful birthplace of Johann Nestroy
1801, the actor, playwright and satirist Johann Nestroy was born in house number three of Braeunerstrasse (a few steps from Graben).
The courtyard of the house, dating from 1761, shows open corridors with wrought iron railings and a romantic wall fountain. The house is an elegant example of the classic Pawlatschenhoefe (classic viennese Courtyard), which you shouldn’t miss during your City Walks.
